TT Electronics – manufacturing jobs concern in Rhondda

The Western Mail today reported that up to seventy jobs could be transferred from Tonypandy to Newport at TT Electronics – but no workers will be made redundant in the immediate future.

Concerns were also raised by Welsh AM Leanne Wood, about the loss of specialist manufacturing jobs in the Rhondda and that workers would not be able to easily transfer to the plant at Rogerstone.

In 2012, TT electronics bought out Rhondda firm ACW Technology.

Concern has also been expressed because the company has recently opened a new base in Timisoara, Romania in December and fears are that there may be plans to increase the workforce there, rather than in Wales. To read more click here.
