Wages are rising in Wales for the first time since the recession as businesses look to attract staff in a tightening labour market, a new report has found.

But the latest UK Business Confidence Monitor (BCM), published by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) and Grant Thornton, cautioned that skill shortage issues had started to emerge.More than a quarter (26 per cent) of businesses had reported that finding workers with non-management skills was more challenging than a year ago, up from just 5 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2013.
