Major American clinical research business Accelovance Inc is to set up its European headquarters in Swansea creating 70 highly skilled jobs in the area.
Accelovance is making the move following a promise of financial support from the Welsh Government.
Accelovance, which is headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, has a small base in Bury St Edmunds in Cambridgeshire and chose to locate its new clinical research facility and European HQ in Wales to support its rapid expansion into the UK and European market. The inward investment will create 70 highly paid jobs
The company is a contract research organisation (CRO) focused primarily on oncology, vaccines and general medicine. It offers clinical development services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, including clinical trials, post-marketing surveillance and long-term survival follow-up.
