Loadlok was established in 1984 in Rotterdam to produce secure cargo fastenings for heavy-duty road transport.The company now supplies a variety of markets from premises in nine strategic countries.
The Merthyr Tydfil operation makes a variety of specialist cargo control systems. The company has benefitted recently from a grant of £210,000 from the Welsh Economic Growth Fund. This will be set aside to upgrade current facilities, bring in new work and create and safeguard 20 plus jobs.
The Merthyr facility is the main manufacturing site for the Load-Lok group and manufactures all the heavy load restraint products as well as cargo slings and lashings used in transportation. This includes large haulage vehicles, the airline industry, and container shipping. In addition to these existing products some of the funding is set aside to manufacture a new product called a pillar. It’s set to provide improved structure for curtain-sided trucks.
