Ahead of a manufacturing industry conference in Liverpool, UK manufacturers are being encouraged to help drive innovation in Chinese industry.
Nick Burd from Lancaster University speaking ahead of the conference said the changing priorities of China’s political elite had opened up a big opportunity. He stated “China recognises that innovation represents a key part of the mindset they need to instil in their businesses.”
Burd, who partners technology-focussed UK businesses with Chinese firms, added: “It’s not a one-way street; the innovation is bilateral. There are substantive areas where innovation is taking place in China.”
Nick Burd runs the Lancaster China Catalyst Programme and will speaking at Insider’s Manufacturing Bites conference in Liverpool on 9 July.
The Manufacturing Bites conference will look at the trends changing the face of global manufacturing, featuring speakers from EEF, UK Trade & Investment and The Manufacturing Institute.
