cbiThe CBI has reported in it’s Industrial Trends Survey that optimism amongst manufacturers is high despite a trend of easing growth.

Whilst the pace of growth has declined over the last quarter it appears that manufacturing output growth in the next three months look to be somewhat better. The latest CBI Industrial Trends Survey said total order books have strengthened this month, returning to the robust level seen in June and becoming more broad-based across sectors.

A total of 37 per cent of the 414 manufacturers questioned said the volume of output over the last three months was up. Twenty-five per cent said it was down, giving a balance of +12 per cent, from +23 per cent in July
