As the non-ferrous yard supervisor, you will oversee all aspects of non-ferrous operations across the Sunderland and Rotherham yards, integrating them into the broader operational framework, ensuring efficient processing, and maintaining quality standards. Responsibilities include: –
- Supervise Non-Ferrous Operations: Oversee non-ferrous operations within the yards, ensuring alignment with the direction set by the yard manager.
- Team Training and Supervision: Train and supervise colleagues to ensure all procedures involving non-ferrous metals are consistently followed across various yards.
- Procedure Implementation: Implement procedures related to non-ferrous scrap processing operations and ensure strict adherence by the team.
- Deputy Yard Manager: Act as the yard manager’s deputy, taking on managerial responsibilities and overseeing yard operations in their absence.
- Inspection and Grading: Inspect and grade non-ferrous metals to maximise value, applying deductions and downgrades objectively and professionally in line with established criteria and using the provided tools.
To be successful in your application for the yard supervisor, you will need:
- Experience working outdoors in all weathers.
- A background working in a yard/construction/production setting.
- Ideally, experience with non-ferrous operations.
- A full driving licence
In return, the yard supervisor will receive a salary of up to £32,000 per annum, plus a car allowance of £3,500, a bonus of up to 5%, a pension, a healthcare plan and holidays. Hours of work will be days, Monday to Friday, 7 am – 4 pm.
