About the Production Manager role
Working with the General Manager, you'll ensure production priorities are maintained while overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory. You'll lead by example, ensuring output, safety, quality, and team performance all meet high internal and client standards.
Key duties as the Production Manager
- Supervising and monitoring operatives - quality, productivity, and conduct.
- Supporting production planning and preparing materials for next-day site installations.
- Managing and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Writing Method Statements, Risk Assessments, COSHH, HAVS assessments, and Inspection Test Plans.
- Maintaining the training matrix and ensuring appropriate certification coverage for the site team.
- Liaising with suppliers regarding sub-standard materials and checking supplier invoices for discrepancies.
- Ordering welding consumables, engineering supplies, fasteners, and other workshop essentials.
- Calculating and measuring materials for powder coating to ensure accurate costing.
- Overseeing maintenance, fault diagnostics, and servicing of machinery and vehicles (including forklift trucks).
- Coordinating with the training provider on apprentice progress.
- Staying on top of PAT testing and workshop safety compliance.
What you will need to apply for the Production Manager position.
- Proven experience in a welding/fabrication environment.
- Strong leadership and continuous improvement skills.
- Good working knowledge of health and safety.
- Good general IT skills.

Hours of work
41 hours per week - flexible (typically 7:30 am-5:30 pm Mon-Thurs, 7:30 am-12:30 pm Fri).
