Are you a mechanical maintenance technician looking to earn a generous salary to work days for an exceptionally secure manufacturing business? Their turnover is over £1billion and they have a close to 10% market share for their products across Europe. You will earn a salary of up to £40,000 and a pension scheme.
You will focus mainly on the delivery of planned maintenance tasks, assisting with breakdowns as required. The role will be a mix of mechanical maintenance and using machine shop skills to help with the repair and refurbishing of equipment. The hours of work will be days Monday to Friday.
As the mechanical maintenance technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Restoring, repairing, and overhauling equipment
- Attending to breakdowns as needed
- Carrying out equipment changes on machinery
- Working to ensure that all planned maintenance activities are updated on the computerized system.
- Completing routine checks that are allocated through the computerized maintenance system.
- Assisting in the operation and upkeep of site utilities and facilities
- Completing basic machining tasks using lathes, milling machines and grinders

- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment - preferably in a heavy, industrial, process-driven environment
- A relevant time-served mechanical apprenticeship
- Mechanical problem-solving skills
- Experience in working with a computerised planned maintenance system.
- Machining skills (lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc.)
In return, the mechanical maintenance technician will receive a salary of up to £40,000 (dependent on experience) + pension, etc.
