I have sent a copy of my CV to Sigma and I can see some vacancies on your website that I think I am suitable for. Why have you not called me?

This could be for any number of reasons, sometimes clients are specific about industry sector experience, for example they might have told us that they only want to see candidates with automotive industry experience. It could also be that based on the information that we hold on you we don’t think that you would be interested for example, if you told us that you were looking for a minimum of £25K and the vacancy is paying £22K. If in doubt then please call and we can double check.

I have applied for a vacancy online, does this mean that my details have been sent to the client?

No, we screen all applications and call suitable applicants to discuss the role and make them aware who the end employer is.

I have applied for a vacancy and I have not been contacted?

We acknowledge all applications via e-mail, if we think that you are suitable for the role then we will contact you to discuss the role within 3 working days. If we have not contacted you by then it could be that we felt you were unsuitable for the role or that we have not received your CV. Please check your email to see if you have received our automated response, which confirms that we have received the CV. If you really think that you are suitable and we have got it wrong then please give us a call and we will explain our decision, CV’s can be very ambiguous and we can make mistakes as well!

Why have you sent me this email/SMS?

  • We have an email address or mobile number of yours on file and thought you might be interested in this position based on the details we have.

Does receiving this email/SMS mean I am suitable for the position?

  • Not always at this point, it’s more of a speculative contact to generate interest in the position.
  • If you are interested reply with an updated CV and we can evaluate the CV against the client criteria. If we don’t think it fits, we will let you know.

Can you tell me the name of the company that is recruiting?

  • Not straight away due to commercial sensitivity, if you are interested let us know, we can then arrange a call and if you pass through the pre-screen we will provide information on the company (unless it’s a fully confidential position).
  • We will not present your CV to any client without your express verbal consent!

The position is far below my salary expectations why did you contact me?

  • We don’t have salary information on file for every candidate. Let us know what salary you are looking for and we can keep this in mind moving forward.

Will my details be sent to the client; if I state I am interested?

  • NO, we never send your CV to any client without an in-depth telephone screening interview.
