Quality Inspectors - Why You Should Apply
Every other Friday off: This Quality Inspector role runs on a 9-day fortnight from day one. That's 26 extra days off a year for family, hobbies, or just a long weekend twice a month, without touching your holiday allowance.
A permanent home, not a stopgap: This is a permanent position with an award-winning South Wales manufacturer that wants someone to settle in and make the role their own for the long term.
Room to grow your skills: If you have experience in calibration or supplier auditing, there's scope to take that on too. If not, you can build those skills here.
Days only: No more nights or afternoons; you'll work days only!
Your salary, benefits & hours of work
- £28,000-£30,000 depending on experience, plus discretionary annual bonus.
- 9-day fortnight from day one: 6:45am-3:45pm Monday to Thursday, 6:45am-2:15pm Friday one week, then the Friday off the next
- Prefer a five-day week? That's also on offer: 7am-3pm or 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday
- Paid morning and afternoon breaks
What you'll do as the Quality Inspector
You'll sit in the production office alongside the Quality Manager, working closely with purchasing, engineering and the shop floor to keep component and product quality on track.
- Carry out incoming goods inspections on sheet metal and small components, using digital callipers and gauges against 2D drawings
- Confirm faults on parts flagged from the shop floor and raise the necessary non-conformance paperwork
- Raise supplier non-conformances and work with the supply chain team to drive component quality up
- Support buddy checks on builds out in production
- Get involved in the in-house calibration of tools such as torque screwdrivers
- Help investigate manufacturing and component issues alongside engineering and operations
What you'll need to apply for the Quality Inspector
- Hands-on experience of goods-in / incoming inspection within a manufacturing environment
- The ability to read and work from 2D engineering drawings
- Confidence using measurement and inspection equipment such as digital callipers and gauges
