Job Details
Technical Manager required to join a global technology company that develops solutions for their customers across a wide range of industries. They have 5 sites around the world and are about to enter a significant period of growth on the back of extensive R&D work coming to fruition.
You will play a key role in the continued development and improvement of the company's products liaising internally with other members of the team as well as having external conversations with customers. The role will currently be a standalone role utilising resources from other departments but longer-term there will likely be the opportunity to grow the technical team and take on a leadership role.
Technical manager responsibilities will include:
- Delivering technical and operational support for the scale-up and continuous improvement of current and future projects
- Project management of commercial and grant-funded projects
- Planning, resourcing, delivering and reporting project work on behalf of the company
- Engagement and liaison with other sites in the group
- Developing and leading a road map of projects leading to scale up and commercialisation
- Development and qualification of materials and processes for volume production of products
- Analysing manufactured products developing appropriate techniques and procedures for production readiness hand-over and scale-up
- Providing technical support for internal and external customers
- Delivering clear and concise technical communications and presentations for use internally and externally
To apply for the technical manager position, you will need:
- Previous experience of overseeing R&D processes with the aim being full-scale production, preferably in industry
- A degree-level qualification in a technical field (materials science, engineering, chemistry, metallurgy, etc.)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in overseeing CAPEX projects is desirable
- Strong communication skills in both written and verbal formats with the ability to communicate effectively with external customers
In return, the technical manager will receive a salary of £40,000-£45,000 (dependent on experience) + pension, private medical, etc.
