Opportunity for an operations manager, manufacturing manager, plant manager or production manager to work with a well-established manufacturing company, as their general manager.
The business has been established for almost 40 years, expanding their range of products and services over the years to suit individual customer requirements. They supply products to customers in the UK and across the globe.
As the operations manager, general manager, you will have overall site responsibility for all facets of operations, technical, quality operations plus purchasing and sales processing functions. Detailed responsibilities include: -
- Overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance to both legislation and BSI requirements
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining budgetary and resource allocation plans for the site
- Maintaining site performance while enforcing all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, training programs, and cultural values
- Reviewing and improving organisational effectiveness by developing processes and overseeing employees
- Establishing a highly motivated work environment, and creating innovative approaches for improvement
- Assisting departmental Managers where required and maintaining employee levels as agreed by the board of directors
- Maintaining project timelines to ensure tasks are accomplished on time
- Resolving internal staff conflicts efficiently and to the mutual benefit of those involved through the support of the HR department
- Overseeing the introduction of new policies as determined by the company and the introduction of capital investment as required

- Experience as an operations manager, manufacturing manager, general manager or plant manager gained in the manufacturing sector
- Well-developed leadership skills
- Previous performance evaluation experience and a good working knowledge of human resources processes
- Must hold a clean driving licence and passport (travel to customer and supplier premises)
In return, the operations manager / general manager will receive a salary up to £50,000 + company pension, life cover + 36 holidays (including the bank holidays).
