Job Details
Design engineer required to join a global manufacturing company that has been trading for over 70 years. They have seen consistent growth in recent years and offer an excellent benefits package inclusive of a potential annual bonus of up to 10% and BUPA medical cover.
You will work closely with the engineering manager and will enjoy working on a variety of projects as a high percentage of the company's projects are bespoke to the customer's requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a design engineer to take on a lead role from a technical perspective and be responsible for day-to-day work allocation in support of the engineering manager.
Design engineer responsibilities will include:
- Producing equipment outline drawings and layouts for the end customer
- Producing detailed drawings, layouts and procedures for the manufacturing department
- Interpreting customer requirements and technical specifications
- Actively looking for areas to improve products
- Working to set schedules for completion of models and drawings
- Allocation of work to the wider team
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure availability and delivery of required components
- Communicating with other departments to ensure the smooth development of projects
- Keeping technical files up to date with any drawing changes
To apply for the design engineer position, you will need:
- Previous experience of working in the design function of a manufacturing environment
- CAD experience (AutoDesk Inventor)
- A recognised technical qualification in a relevant field (ideally degree level)
- Experience in designing with sheet metal, metal machined components, fabricated parts, etc.
- Previous experience working as a technical lead or team leader is desirable
- Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written formats
In return, the design engineer will receive a salary of £30,000-£35,000 (dependent on experience) + a potential annual bonus of up to 10%, pension, private healthcare, etc.
