Job Details
Administrator required to work in a permanent role for an established business that can trace its roots back to the 19th century. They have moved in recent years to a new purpose-built facility and offer stable and secure employment as well as a varied workload making the role exciting and interesting.
You will work closely with a laboratory manager onsite to provide administration support to their department. The responsibilities of the role can change quite quickly day to day and there are training and development opportunities available to the successful candidate.
As the administrator your duties will include:
- Entering information accurately into the company database
- Handling customer telephone and email enquiries
- Transferring technical queries to other members of staff as required
- Being the initial contact with customers in person on site
- Ensuring all documentation is present, correct and includes required information (such as purchase order numbers)
- Ensuring samples received into the site are handled and stored correctly
- Assisting senior and technical staff with relevant matters when required
- Arranging and dealing with shipping of samples
- Overseeing the filing of all relevant documentation (including archiving in line with company policy)
To apply for the administrator role you will need:
- Experience in an administrative role which requires a high amount of attention to detail
- Experience of working in a laboratory/technical administration role is desirable
- The ability to enter information accurately into systems
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal formats
- The ability to be able to switch between tasks effectively as required
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
In return, the administrator will receive a salary of £18,000-£21,000 (dependent on experience - possibly more for someone with relevant industry experience) + pension, 25 Days holiday + Bank holidays, etc.
The hours of work are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday (37.5 hour week).
