Shift Manager / Production Shift Manager

Salary: £29,719 in shift allowance rising to £30,219 after probation
2 shift pattern
6am - 2pm / 2pm - 10pm alternating

The Role:

PROFIT
Management of labour to agreed budgeted levels
Management of Material Waste to agreed budgeted levels
Management of Equipment performance to agreed budgeted levels

QUALITY
To actively demonstrate Leadership to your team in all aspects of Food safety and Quality requirements
To ensure that all aspects of the Quality Management system (QMS) are implemented and that effective audit procedures are developed.
To lead from the front in setting and delivery of the required GMP in your area / delivering customer expectations

RISK
To actively promote a Health and Safety culture within your team
To actively promote the need to deliver compliance to all Environmental procedures
To regularly audit that all the required control systems are being used and effectively complied with.(as detailed within "Key control factors" opposite.

SUPPLY
To ensure that your production teams deliver customer service levels at agreed target levels
To continuously promote the need to identify changes in process/method that will lead to productivity improvement.

TEAM
Ensuring your team have a clear understanding of their roles & accountabilities.
To ensure that you set clear Accountabilities and Objectives for all of your direct reports
To ensure that Training and Development plans are in place, and that they are actively reviewed for yourself, and all of your direct reports
To carry out a formal Performance review with your direct reports every 6 months as per HR guidelines
To ensure that there are clear communication flows within your shift teams, and also between your teams and other functional departments
Creation of a team environment which allows a continuous improvement culture to develop

The Candidate:

Candidates will need extensive food manufacturing experience.
Strong people management skills
Knowledge / experience of highly automated production lines.
Willing to work flexible hours

The Shift Manager / Production Shift Manager / Shift Leader role would suit candidates who are currently a production manager, shift manager, production supervisor, section manager, section controller etc
