Continuous Improvement Specialist
Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience + Bonus
The Role:
To develop, implement and support a continuous improvement culture that will deliver and sustain long-term efficiency improvements. To be a focal point for CI activities within area of responsibility and provide and deliver Lean Awareness training and basic tools and techniques for improvement.
This role involves both office and hands-on practical work. The jobholder will be required to work with personnel on site, implementing CI tools and techniques to make improvements.
This is an autonomous role, requiring self motivation to influence the business at all levels, demanding the insight to understand strategic and annual plans and translate into local targets & KPIs, there after facilitating the improvement activity to achieve those plans and results.
Coaches will be responsible not only to the Continuous Improvement manager, but also to the local area manager where they operate.
Initiate & facilitate process & data analysis within area of responsibility to identify key continuous improvement opportunities.
Lead/ facilitate strategic improvement & journey projects to make those opportunities reality.
Ensure success through facilitation of robust review processes
Develop "Holistic" CI project plans to cover business process, management and technical functions within each area of responsibility.
The Candidate:
Extensive experience in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing is required to include implementation of lean and training other in lean / CI techniques.
A Six Sigma Black Belt, or other related continuous improvement / lean qualification would be a big advantage.
Degree level education would be preferred.
Continuous Improvement Specialist role would suit candidates who are currently a Purchasing Manager, Logistics Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Continuous Improvement Manager, lean Improvement Specialist, Six Sigma Black Belt, Six Sigma Master Black Belt etc.
