Home Economist / NPD Assistant / Food Scientist

Salary: £19,000 - £25,000 NEG + Bens

The Role:

Standard cooking tests, testing microwave, defrost, grill, convection and combination modes.
Developing automatic cooking programs for new models introduced throughout the world.
Testing, evaluating and recommending cooking times for items in charts in cook books.
Developing new recipes for cook books.
Evaluating new model performance at pre-production stage.
Problem solving for cooking complaints as requested by consumers or sales companies.
Preparing operating instructions for microwave ovens - including origination, translations and proof reading.
As necessary communicating with internal departments, sales companies, translation agencies and suppliers.
Assisting in cooking presentations and workshops with the marketing department.
Maintaining deadlines for completing cooking tests and issuing artwork for new books.
Daily maintenance of test kitchen area.

The Candidate:

Degree or HND level in Home Economics (or Food and Consumer studies).
Some experience working in the area of product development is desirable.
PC literate.
A foreign language is desirable but not essential.
Experience of proof reading is desirable.
Full clean driving licence is essential.
